Technician, Artist, Oddball

I am a queer theatre-maker from Dothan, Alabama. I hold a MFA in Theatre Technology from Indiana University, and an undergraduate degree in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (with a focus on Technical Theatre) from the New College of Florida. My most recent work can be seen in Indiana University's production of Reefer Madness and Trollwood Performing Arts School's 2024 summer production, The Addams Family Musical.

Born during the witching hour, and harboring a deep love for all things eccentric, I have a supernatural drive to create. I relish any opportunity to work on out of this world projects and so called “Impossible Theatre”. You can often find me in my office hunkering down with a problem eagerly working towards the solution. So get in touch with me, and let's make weird theatre together!

creative Values:

My working principles are deeply situated around forming a bond with my team members and ensuring we put the best possible product onstage. Our work can be stressful at times, and I firmly believe everyone works better when they know there is someone in their corner willing to back them up. I'm of the mindset that working excessive hours is not a badge of honour, but a sign of unpreparedness. So, while preparing a show and moving it through the shop, I strive to be effective and efficient doing all I can to set us up for success and no late nights.

Three core tenets of my work are
Collaboration, Education, and Joy.
Theatre, by nature, is collaborative and requires many unique minds to come together to create something amazing. I was once told that the smartest thing to know is when someone else has a better idea than you. and I've tried to keep that thought at the forefront of my work. I'm here to listen and open up conversations, not shut them down.

Likewise, I feel the same about education, there is always something new to learn or something new to teach. Being able to guide a new team member through a production and getting to see their skills improve throughout that time is so rewarding and can give them personal triumph and accountability when working on a project. I love finding new answers to old problems & continuing to learn new ways to tackle each production.

Lastly Joy. As theatre-makers we are engaging in the act of creation, bringing to audiences things they might have never seen before, and when I think about that, I can't help but feel happy. Focusing on joy in my work, I try to ensure that, in any shop I run, my team knows that I appreciate the work they do for me and feel that coming into work is an occasion they can enjoy.
